The Matchless Clubman has been described as a blend between the legendary DC30 and the Chieftain. Is this the perfect Matchless amp??? It could very well be! Featuring a pair of EL34’s and a preamp section sweetened by an EF86, this amp has both chime and girth in all the right ways.
This amp came with a unique 3 speaker cabinet that had two 10” Jensen’s and one 12” Celestion G12H. However, I preferred the tone of my G12M greenbacks in my AC30 cab so I used that speaker for the majority of the captures.

ORIGINAL
These presets are designed to be my go-to all around presets for a variety of guitars but sound particularly good with humbuckers.

BRIGHT
These presets were made with the amp set at intentionally brighter and dirtier settings for a tone that’s aggressive and cutting. Honestly…these aren’t my favorite! But I included them in case you’re interested in cranking the treble or if you’ve got a really warm guitar!

These presets were made with Jimmy Rigs personal settings he uses on his Matchless Clubman. They’re a touch brighter than the Original presets but not as sharp as the Bright presets. Note that I captured these with a G12H speaker, not to be confused with the G12M.

2 CLN A slightly different take on the clean preset that adds a touch more compression when driven but stays clean when clean.

RECOMMENDED PAIRINGS
If you run two amp captures in stereo and also own my AC30, Tone Cat or Prosonic captures, I recommend (and personally use) these presets interchangeably:
TS AC30 V1 - 1 - G12M
TS PROSON V1 - 1 - G10V
TS MCLUB 2 CLN - G12M
*If you prefer a dirtier starting point, the TS AC30 V1 - 2 and TS PROSON 2 are well balanced and provide a bit more breakup.
Slight adjustments to the Volumes may be needed to perfectly match output volume.
When pairing with the Tone Cat, I recommend these two presets:
