This particular AC30 is a 90’s Korg Era AC30 6TB with an original Celestion Greenback and a new Fane Ascension F25 speaker. This amp has been heavily modded by Don “Toneman” Butler, a Los Angeles area legend. Don equipped this amp with a Mercury Magnetics Axiom transformer and choke, replaced all the signal path components, changed the filtering to JMI specs, upgraded various components and more. This amp is the tone I’ve been chasing in my head for years and the Quad Cortex has finally given me a way to capture it in a pedalboard friendly package!

PRESETS
VERSION 1 (V1)
These presets are designed to be my go-to all around presets for a variety of guitars but sound particularly good with humbuckers. These are my two original captures and, in my opinion, still sound the best!

VERSION 2 (V2)
Based on popular demand to release a wider range of gain stages, I made another round of captures, attempting to dial in my exact same tonal settings as V1 but with just more range of gain. While there’s certainly more gain, despite my best efforts, there’s also a very very slight tonal difference. V2’s bass response is a tad different. Some may really like it so give it a shot!

WARM (WRM)
Made in collaboration with Sam Wittek for his Telecaster equipped with bright Porter Custom single coil pickups. These presets are warmer than V1 and V2 to provide a smoother top end while still retaining clarity in the mix and work especially well with bright pickups.

I only included this single capture of the F25 speaker because I can’t load more than 14 Neural Captures per preset. However, adjusting the Gain up or down on this capture should get you very close to where “1” or “3” would be on the original captures. Message me if you really want the other F25 captures.
TONE CAT AMP MATCHED (TCAT)
This preset is tonally matched to my Bad Cat Tone Cat “D AC - 1” preset.

RECOMMENDED PAIRINGS
If you run two amp captures in stereo and also own my Prosonic or Match Club captures, I recommend (and personally use) these presets interchangeably:

*If you prefer a dirtier starting point, the TS AC30 V1 - 2 and TS PROSON 2 are well balanced and provide a bit more breakup.
Slight adjustments to the Volumes may be needed to perfectly match output volume.
When pairing with the Tone Cat, I recommend these two presets:
